There is no miracle food! Stick to high quality brands (these usually cost more).
When we sell the puppy to you, we will give you a sample of the food he/she is currently eating. This sample contains enough food for at least a few days. If you would like to keep the same brand of food, it will be provided. Otherwise, if you wish to change his/her food, you should do so gradually. Mixing the current food with the new food and gradually (every day) mixing less of the old food and more of the new food for at least five days. After, follow the directions written on the back of the food bag. Different amounts of food are required with different types of food depending on your puppy's size.
When you first bring the puppy home, it is recommended to have cans or packs of soft canned foods (Cesar will do - about $0.75 per pack). Purchase a few since your puppy can be a little nervous about being in a new home and may not feel compelled to eat for the first few days. Mixing their normal grains with a little bit of Cesar will make he/she eat even if he/she isn't that hungry. Keeping it's body nourished will help relieve stress.
Dog biscuits broke into smaller pieces help toward tooth tarter and helps control breath also.

When you bring a puppy to a new home, he will be stressed for at least the part of one day... and in extreme cases, up to two weeks. It's normal for him/her not to know what is going on. Should your puppies stress be high enough, he/she may develop diarrhea. This is usually for one or two stools only however this recipe helps the stomach while providing a treat for your pup or dog. This recipe works wonders on adult dogs with diarrhea as well.
Ingredients:
Note: Do not mess with the recipe. Not all human food is good for a dog. NEVER put spices in a puppy's or dog's food. While some spices are good for humans, they can be toxic to a dog. NO SALT and NO PEPPER. They are useless items for the dog's health (unless otherwise instructed by your veterinarian)
Cooking instructions:
Cook hamburger meat until fully cooked and break meat off in small pieces.
Cook rice according to rice directions except that you add more water. In the end, rice should not be dry like normal rice. Rather, there should be water remaining. (Note: Use normal rice only - WHITE RICE. Uncle Ben's 5 Minute Quick Rice works great).
Mix meat and rice together and add yogurt to the mix. Put in enough yogurt to cover meat and rice. Keep mixing until all is covered. Give to dog slowly and allow time for digestion. Watery rice will help hydrate him/her while the yogurt is good for the stomach. Replace two meals with this. Then, you can give some in addition to regular food for the following few days. Since this food tastes better to them, it may be better to give it after a regular meal or mix it with the regular food.
There are only a few possible shipping methods. Any puppy that changes home will be subject to stress. However, after a few days, they are usually just fine.
The best way to ship will depend on your location. If the puppy needs to fly by plane, then Cargo shipping is the best way. The only reason it's stressful is because there is no one with the puppy on the plane to comfort him/her.
Puppy and shipping must be paid in full before we ship. We bring a puppy in a crate (crate is provided in the shipping price) to the airport. The puppy is then loaded as live animal cargo on the airplane. The crate is strapped to the plane so it does not move in case of any turbulence. Depending on flight length, food may not be provided during flight to prevent nausea/vomiting. You should feed your puppy as soon as you have him/her on arrival. On longer flights, we will provide a small amount of food for the puppy so he/she does not go hungry during the flight. Water is always provided for the puppy on any flight. During long flights, the airline will fill up the water bowl of the puppy.
You must be patient if you choose this shipping method. THIS IS NOT FEDEX® If temperature is too hot or too cold, we can and will refuse to ship and the flight will be rescheduled.
We do not accept a deposit if we cannot be sure you will be able to receive the puppy.
Cost: In continental U.S.A., cost is usually between $260 to $360 per dog.
Cost includes:
We have used American & Delta/Northwest airlines in the past. Between these two airline carriers, they go to almost all airports in the continental U.S.A.
The other method of transportation is shipping via car. This is not recommended for long distance travel because most puppies get nauseated in the car which increases stress levels and temporarily makes the puppy feel depressed. However, some puppies adjust after a few hours while others decide to sleep it out.
For a small fee, we can sometimes meet as long as it's a reasonable distance from us. Our fees are only charged to cover gas for our vehicle to get there. If the location is closer than expected, we will reimburse the difference. Note: We are not always available every day to just leave anywhere. We must both agree on a date and time beforehand. Also, our puppies always come first. Rescheduling may sometimes be necessary for any type of shipping.
